Endodontics deals with the treatment of the roots, known as root canal treatment. Endodontic treatment becomes necessary when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have the following causes: deep caries or injury due to an accident. The aim of root canal treatment is to clean the entire canal system and seal it hermetically in the long term. A tooth that has been correctly filled with a root canal filling and then restored with an adequate filling or crown can remain functional in the long term and does not place any strain on the entire organism.
